In 1940, the founding members of the Texarkana Employees FCI Federal Credit Union were granted a charter with the National Credit Union Administration. Our membership field included the employees and their immediate families of the Texarkana Federal Correctional Institution. This Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative that is owned by the people who use it and is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We were created to help ourselves in our financial needs.
In January 2005, we expanded to include Forrest City Correctional Complex in Forrest City in Forrest City, Arkansas in our field of membership.
Our mission is to provide safe, sound and competitive financial services to our members. We are owned and controlled by our members and therefore, exist for their financial benefit by encouraging savings, offering reasonable loan rates, and striving to provide the best possible financial services to meet their needs. We are committed to the credit union philosophy of members helping members in a responsible, caring, and professional manner.
Since our beginning, we have grown to over 8 million in assets in two offices and always have money to lend! Because we are still a closed membership, we are small enough to know our members but big enough to provide most needed services.
